Swiss Luxury

switzerland-mountain-lake.jpg

Switzerland is certainly a place you have already heard about, it is impossible not to link it with the words classical and luxury. Some people think it is too much, but it is not, anything is worth paying to sleep for a night or more in a historical place that looks like a castle with the comfort you get in any twenty-first century hotel.

The architecture of these places is definitely one of the most beautiful ones still up, and it is not only the hotels,  the excellent hospitality comes along with an intense nature contact, you can feel the nature of centuries ago with all the comfort we want.

The Swiss food is also famous and you will, of course, try it, the best chocolates on Earth, with plenty of cafés for you to visit, all in a historical mood. History is everywhere on Switzerland. If you want to, you can stay on a historical hotel, than have a look at the historic places at the city, eat in historic restaurants and cafés, you will certainly feel like if you were on the past. Who said it is not possible to travel on time?

Of course, if you miss all the city movement, just drop by Zurich and you will feel home again, then go back and enjoy the past again.

Everything has a price, a trip to Switzerland including visits all these historical places and stays at historical hotels are a bit more expensive than what you would spend on a common trip, but definitely worth it! If you can afford it, do not miss your chance to go deep in past and enjoy all the classical experience you can and will have.

Tourism in Brazil

39243397seascapesporcosbay.jpg

Brazil is a huge country, with thousands of places to visit. It has places
to attract pretty much anyone, from hot sunny beaches, to some cities where
the cold weather, together with snow, it the biggest attraction.
The most famous touristic city of the country is certainly Rio de Janeiro,
it’s known for the high criminality level over there, but also for famous and
beautiful places, such as the Pão de Açucar, where there is the Cristo Redentor,
which was ellected as one of the world’s new wonder.

Another very famous place, on the Northeast, is Fernando de Noronha, it is
considered by most tourism especialists as the most beautiful place of the
country, but, a curious thing, is that you will almost never find Brazilian people
there, most likely because it is an expensive place to stay.

The South of the country has some winter options too, cities such as Gramado, on
the extreme South is known for it’s winter festival and celebrations, with
several attractions, including food fairs, it is also known for it’s great wines.

The Brazilian people are very warm with tourists, they are all loved there, some
people are scared about going there, as it seems to be a violent place, but that
is not true, it can be a really safe place as long as a few things are observed.

Basically, Brazil has attractions for everyone’s tastes, a country you should not miss.
It does not matter if someone is looking for a walk on the beach, for a stay on the
country side, or in the middle of a big city, or for extreme sports Brazil can offer everything, of course not in the same place as it is a real big country, but anyone can have fun there, they just have got to decide what they want to see, they’ll find it here.

The Brazilian History

brazil-16-map.jpgThe Brazilian official history starts in 1500, a bit more than five hundred years ago, when the country was discovered by Pedro Alvares Cabral, a Portuguese traveler who was on his way to the Indias, but ended up arriving at Brazil. After some discussions, the Brazilian territory was divided by Portugal and Spain, those countries were the owners of Brazil.

There were indians here when they arrived, the Portuguese people were very surprised,
as the indians here had almost no hair on their bodies, and they all walked naked, what was very strange for them. The Portuguese made friends with the natives by giving them some objects, such as mirrors, thing they did not know. The natives ended up turning into slaves, together with the African ones that were imported.

As soon as the Portuguese guys arrived here, lots of indians were raped, as the men on the ships were traveling for months, with only men on the ships, they were so desperate, and the indians were so vulnerable, that it happened these rapes, added up with the ones against the African slaves, made the Brazilian skin color. A mixture of races. Brazil was on slavery for over 300 years. Right after the country was divided by Portuguese and
Spanish people, other immigrants from all over the world started to come.

Brazil has a sad history, it was filled with slavery, crimes, racist actions, stupid governments, the country had it’s independence, but it is dependant on other countrie’s economy until today, there is a lot of corruption on the government of Brazil and people are too passive, they are being stolen and do nothing, the same happened five hundred years ago.

Economy in Brazil

banco.jpgThe Brazilian economy is now estable, Brazil is categorized as a country in
development, such as India, for example. Most specialists believe the country
does not develop as much as it has potential to do so because of the government,
which is filled with corruption, stealing, and lack of will do work and make
Brazil a bigger and stronger country.

The Brazilian currency is now the Real (R$), although it has changed a lot
during the years so that the inflation could be controled, but it has now
been stablished. The real is getting stronger as the dollar price falls down,
that happens because Brazil is a country that still depends a lot on
other countries, it is not a self sustaintable country at all.

Brazil has huge sources of money, such as oil and steel companies, and a lot
of multionacional companies have been installed there, mainly because of
the low salaries the workers receive (the minimum wage in Brazil is R$400,00 which is
no more than $250,00), and the low price of the brute products too.And also,
the government gives special treatment for these companies, such as free terrain,
or make them tax-free for up to 10 years. So it ends up being a very good deal for them.
to have companies there.

Brazil is a country that still has a lot to develop economicaly, and that is
something that is not going to change until there are changes from the government,
one thing that Brazil is also remembered for is that they are the country with the highest
taxes on the world, and unfortunately, this money is not used correctly. It is a country
with a huge potential that is not being explored.

What do you know about Brazil?

brasil.jpgI have just added a new category, the category places. I’ll be starting with Brazil, my own country. This will be a serie of five articles: general information, economy, tourism, history and culture. Let me know what do you think of it! :D

General Information about Brazil

Brazil is a very big country, divided into twenty six states and a federal district, it is not possible to give Brazil a main characteristic, as each part of the country can be metaforicaly considered a different country, there were some movements to make the South of the country a different country, but it was not effected.

Anyway, the Brazilian image on the rest of the world is not so good anymore, the country is seen as a complete mess, where the only important things are Carnival and soccer, which is, of course, not true. The world has a wrong view of Brazil, most likely because of it’s size.

Brazil is a tropical country, the weather is hot the biggest part of the year, but there are some curiosities, for example, the South of the country has a very intense winter, it even snows in a few cities, and the Northeast has no winter, there is no winter over there, the seasons are divided into rainy and dry. It can be a good thing for tourists who are looking for some hot weather, but it must be horrible to live in a place where you are not going to ever feel the cold weather.

So, basically, Brazil is a good place, even though it is not seen like that around the globe, of course, the country has problems, tell me which country does not, one of the main characterisits of the Brazilian people is that they are very warm, tourists are loved over there, and people are generous, Brazilian people are certainly the best feature of Brazil.
